Instructions

Step 1

Butterscotch Sauce: In a saucepan, melt together sugar, whipping cream, butter and corn syrup over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Stir for about 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth. Set aside.

Step 2

In another saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until steaming. Spoon 2 tbsp (30 mL) of the Butterscotch Sauce into each mug. Pour milk into mugs. Top each with whipped cream and drizzle with more Butterscotch Sauce to serve.

Iced Variation:  Omit heating the milk and pour over ice cubes in glasses.

Butterscotch Rum Variation:  Add 1 tbsp (15 mL) dark rum to each mug with heated milk.

Butterscotch Coffee Variation:  Add 1 espresso shot to each mug with heated milk.

Storage:

Cover and refrigerate remaining Butterscotch Sauce for up to 3 weeks. To reheat sauce, place in microwave-safe bowl or in a saucepan over low heat until proper consistency.

Tip!

Feel free to add as much Butterscotch Sauce to suit your liking when making your cup.
